Chicago, IL 60614 - Repaired damaged hardwood floors, buffed and recoated
Service: September 23, 2009
Comments:
They are the best. I spoke with several companies, and I am so glad I decided to go with Chicagoland Flooring. They are definitely the most professional and offer the highest quality work in my opinion. The owner actually talked us out of the more expensive options - that was my first clue that these guys really deserve their great reputation. (He advised us to buff and apply a protective coat instead of sanding or replacing the floors, based on our particular situation.) We couldn't be more pleased with how the floors turned out. They did a lot of work for us on two radically different properties (a newer construction condo which is currently on the market, and the home we just moved into, which is an historic row house with original floors.) In both cases the work is beautiful and they did an amazing job.

Chicago, IL 60657 - Replaced floor boards
Service: July 21, 2009
Comments:
I had a broken floor board in my dining room. I had called other companies and most did not do any repair. The representative who came to my home was very professional and was able to do an excellent repair of the problem. They answered my phone call the same day and asked that I email photos of the problem so he already was aware of what was needed.

Streeterville, Chicago, IL 60011 - Hardwood red oak flooring installed
Service: May, 2008
Comments: After getting quotes from 8 different installers (some came and took measurements, some gave quotes over the phone), I decided to go with Chicagoland Flooring. The owner was the most knowledgeable and also gave me the best quote. He was also willing to work within my time frame (I had to have new floors installed and find a new tenant by the end of the month). From the start, he impressed me with his attentiveness and experience, especially in dealing with a high-rise, where having to meet building requirements and paperwork can pose challenges and delays. From beginning to end the job went smoothly. If I ever had a question or concern I would email or call his cell phone and he would respond immediately. While he was in the unit installing the floor, he even took time to show the apartment to a prospective tenant and helped her take some measurements. As a result, I got an awesome tenant and some beautiful floors. He is very personable and professional and
will go the extra mile to make his clients happy. He is a real pleasure to work with.

Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL 60614 - Rebuilding of subfloor, installation and leveling of hardwood floors, refinishing to match existing floors, reinstallation of baseboards and thresholds
Service: March, 2008
Comments: Removal of old flooring and installation of new hardwood floor in large family room. Buffing and refinishing of floors in kitchen, living room, and hallway. It was a difficult job requiring removal of several lawyers of old flooring, rebuilding of subfloor, removal and reinstallation of baseboards, matching existing floors, leveling new floor to meet uneven levels of old flooring, and building new thresholds. They also hauled away large amounts of debris, moved my furniture into and out of the rooms.
Great job. The owner and his crew were polite, helpful, professional, and the floors look great. Old floors look like new, matching new floors very well. The job took a little over a week, and cost more than original estimate due to unexpected condition of subfloor. Everyone showed up on time, and cleaned up when they were done. They were very responsive to all my inquiries and requests.

Wicker Park, Chicago, IL 60614 - Repaired and refinished existing wood floor
Service: March, 2008
Comments:
The project turned out to be much bigger than anticipated since the floor underneath the carpet had significant repair work to be done as well as sub floor repair. However, it was worth the effort and the result hardwood floor looks great.

West Ridge / Warren Park, Chicago, IL 60645 - Sanded and refinished oak stairs treads
Service: November, 2007
Comments: Removed millions of staples left over from
old carpet that had already been removed.
We were able to schedule the work within a week of calling. At first I didn't really like the idea of conducting the communication
by email, which is what they prefer. But the owner was immediately responsive to all correspondence, and it worked out very well. He also
checked in regularly throughout the project, and followed up in the weeks after the work was completed, to make sure we were happy with
the outcome. The workers were great-polite and professional. They worked quickly yet carefully. The result is beautiful. The old floors
turned out better than I could have hoped for, and everything about the experience was positive. I highly recommend this company.

Hyde Park/Bronzeville, Chicago, IL 60653 - removal of stains without sanding floors
Service: March, 2007
Comments: We have new (2 1/2 years old) hardwood floors throughout our condominium. We will be renting this condo because my husband is being
transferred.
There were many black marks on the floor (from ?) which I could not remove by any method that I tried. These needed to be removed to restore the floor to an acceptable
state. These marks were up to 15 inches long in some spots, as if someone had used a magic marker on the floor. They were quite noticeable.
I contacted Chicagoland Flooring with this problem and he made an appointment to come to view and estimate the problem. First he attempted to remove the marks with cleaner. This didn't work. Then we discussed my
options. He left me with some suggestions to try on my own to see if it was possible to repair this problem without redoing the entire floor
(the only other alternative). His suggestions worked and I avoided a very large bill. I am thrilled. Although it took some work on my part,
it was worth it for the money saved. I appreciated the advice and the fact that Chicagoland Flooring didn't just sell me a service. He attempted to help me
solve the problem in the most cost effective way. This is a very honest company. I can't imagine a better outcome.

Gold Coast, Chicago, IL 60611 - Installed prefinished oak flooring; replaced baseboards
Service: February, 2007
Comments:
The project went so smoothly. They finished in the time they promised.
The owner was always patient and kind and even tried to talk me out of the dark, dark floors
I wanted to order as he feared I would be disappointed. I knew what I wanted so we stuck to the original choice but I appreciated that he cared so much. They were courteous
and clean. The baseboards weren't quite as finished as I thought they would be and he came back out and went above and beyond to make
sure I was happy with the end result. There is no question that we would use them again. They were fantastic!

West Ridge/Warren Park, Chicago, IL 60645 - Refinishing of red oak floors.
Service: November, 2006

Garfield Park, Chicago, IL 60644 - Refinished floors and stairway.
Service: November, 2006
Comments:
They came out promptly to estimate the job. They were willing to repair and refinish the existing floor, where another company only wanted to
install a new one. This was old veneer (3/8 inch) hardwood flooring with some damage.
Replacement flooring was not available; I had to pull flooring out of a closet. They did a fine job on both repairing and refinishing.

Rogers Park, Chicago, IL 60626 - Installed new red oak flooring, sanded, and polyurethaned existing floors
Service: October, 2006
Comments:
Overall it went well and we are very pleased with the results. They weaved in the old floor with the new one.
We had a good consultation and service from the owner
of Chicagoland Flooring, who prepared us and gave us heads up and options beforehand. His workmen were courteous and did high quality work.

River North, Chicago, IL 60610 - Repaired, sanded, filled gaps replaced floor boards and refinished hardwood floor
Service: October, 2006
Comments: Refinished very old and beat-up looking hardwood floor. They sanded it, replaced pieces that needed replacement, filled gaps with putty
where needed and added three coats system. No staining. Believe me: it
now looks fantastic!
I would hire Chicagoland Flooring again in an instant with no hesitation. He is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. We could not move all our furniture out, so
he helped us find the best way to divide the job to make it in two phases (all the furniture in one area while the other is re-finished and then the other way around) without
leaving any marks showing the joint between the two areas.
The owner also helped us select the best color for our finished floor (natural in our case, no stain), even when the selected option meant less business for him.
The team replaced several wood pieces that would have not looked good with the normal refinishing process. They filled some gaps that existed between different pieces of wood.
I felt comfortable leaving them work at home by themselves and they kept the key for the time that the job took. I did not have any problem. The job was done on time, within budget
and most important: the final result is astonishing! I highly recommend it.

Lakeview, Chicago, IL 60613 - Sanded and re-coated floors with polyurethane
Service: September, 2006
Comments: Chicagoland Flooring came out to repair water stains in my red oak floor.
The owner, checked to make sure there was no water damage in the immediate area, then sanded the stain out and re-coated the area with a polyurethane finish.
He also provided me some advice on some other scratches and nicks in my floor.
I truly enjoyed meeting the owner of Chicagoland Flooring, and was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge.
He agreed to meet with me on a hasty schedule because I had renters moving in to
the property. I would highly recommend Chicagoland Flooring Inc, and will call the company again when it is time for my floors to be refinished.

North Park/ Budlong Woods, Chicago, IL 60659 - Patch and re-finish existing hardwood
floor
Service: April, 2006
Comments:
Chicagoland Flooring was on time to make an initial inspection and estimate. Estimate was efficiently submitted to
me by e-mail later that same day. Although his estimate was not the lowest (it was in the middle),
the owner was a
thorough professional, answering all of my questions and bringing samples of his work, along with his credentials
and professional licenses and affiliations. I felt comfortable enough to leave his crew to do its work while
I went on vacation. They showed up on time the day I was leaving and went right to work. When I returned, I found
the floors in beautiful condition. In the one room where there had been patches of unfinished wood, I couldn't
tell where they had been! Other than the sanding dust on the walls (which I had been told in advance that I would
be responsible for wiping down), the house was in clean condition. I would recommend this company highly.

Uptown, Chicago, IL 60613 - Installation of cork and plywood for subfloor. Installation of red oak
flooring, baseboard, thresholds
and frame around sliding doors
Service: December, 2005
Comments:
I was very pleased with the way this project went. It required some decisions along the way, including
whether or not we could open a wall between rooms. Owner brought along an electrician to discuss
ramifications of that on the project, which was extra service. Although the price was not low overall, I feel we
got exactly what was agreed to, and I appreciated the breakouts of various costs. I also appreciated
all
communication with me because the time to work on this unit, in which we do not yet live, is hard to come by for me.
Our floors are beautiful, and I would recommend Chicagoland Flooring without reservation!
P.S.--Our condo association requires a high level of insurance coverage, and it was advantageous and professional
that Chicagoland Flooring has it.

Edgewater, Chicago, IL 60660 - Installed subfloor, new red oak flooring sanded and stained
Service: September, 2005
Comments:
They did an outstanding job, the house has a considerable amount of
setting due to its age. They were able to level the floors almost perfectly
(I say "almost" because there must be a spot where they weren't perfect, we just haven't found it yet). What attracted us to
the owner of Chicagoland Flooring, is how much time he spent with us the first night he met us. None of that time was wasted. He is extremely knowledgeable
and a highly motivated entrepreneur whose main mantra is customer satisfaction. His stream of communications started when he first met us and hasn't stop even after a
month since the job was completed. His craftsmen are equally skilled and hardworking. What I'm trying to say is that Chicagoland Flooring is an exceptional company, even
among really good companies.

North Park / Forest Glen, Chicago, IL 60630 - Removal of existing flooring and sub floor, repair/brace floor
joists, install new sub floor and Brazilian cherry hardwood flooring. Install and finish stair treads
Service: July, 2005
Comments:
Excellent work and very reasonable price! The end result is beautiful. The new floor
is absolutely lovely, and the floor is now nice and level. The refinished floor is much nicer than I expected, some
patches are not noticeable and at all - I can't tell where the original floor ends and the patch begins. I had a few
other companies out to quote on the job and they all wanted to 'shortcut' and lay new floor over the existing floor.
The owner pointed out this would eventually warp and not be level. He also pointed out weak spots in the first floor,
and said the upstairs was good enough to just refinish rather than replace.

Hyde Park, Chicago, IL 60615 - Sanded hardwood floors applied oil finish
Service: June, 2005
Comments:
From the beginning Chicagoland Flooring was exactly on-time and highly professional. Before
choosing Chicagoland Flooring, we talked to several other companies, some of which quoted lower prices, but could
not work within our time constraints. His crew started when we agreed they would start, and they finished ahead
of schedule. The work exceeded our expectations, the price was good, and the experience was wonderful.

Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL - Refinished hardwood floor

Gold Coast / Near North Side, Chicago, IL 60610 - Installing of new hardwood flooring
Service: April, 2005
Comments: They are very good. Very professional. Where they made repairs, you cannot tell. They had to custom make

Hyde Park, Chicago, IL 60615 - Sanding, staining and finishing of hardwood flooring
Service: April, 2005
Comments: I moved into a 40 year old home with hardwood floors that were in very bad condition. There
were areas of water damage and places where sections were baldy damaged or missing.
Chicagoland Flooring did a
wonderful job. The areas what were damaged were seamlessly replaced.
It looks like an entirely new floor. They worked quickly and neatly. There was very little clean up
for me to do. It was worth every penny, and then some. I found the entire team prompt, professional and polite.
The owner has an extensive amount of knowledge of flooring and takes time to educate you.
The owner also takes the
time to stay in contact by phone to update you on the progress as things are going along.

Lincoln Park, Chicago, IL 60614 - Sanding of the wood floors. Repairs of bad floor boards
Service: March, 2005
Comments: The home has three
kinds of wood, oak, maple, and pine.
Chicagoland Flooring was great! When the owner came to do the estimate he was very thorough at explaining all of the
different options and really clarifying things for us. Also out of the 3 estimates we got, he was the least
expensive. The work done was beautiful. Our only complaint was that it took one day longer to finish the
job than it should have, but he was very apologetic abut it and rectified the situation by apologetic a
faster (and mere expensive) finish to the wood at his own expense.

Albany Park, Chicago, IL 60625 - Floors sanded, stained & refinished with water based finish
Service: February, 2005
Comments:
We were very satisfied with Chicagoland Flooring. The owner was knowledgeable and took time to explain
the entire process to us. His request to and took the time to explain the entire process to us. His request
to email him was a little off putting to my wife who had called, but once she got the questionnaire from him
it made more sense. His crew was pleasant, punctual and got the job done on schedule. Their work was great
and everything was as we expected. The amount of dust left by the sanding was substantial, but
we had been
warned us ahead of time so we weren't surprised. I'd hire them again.

Old Irving Park, Chicago, IL 60618 - Refinished hardwood floors and replaced few floorboards

Comments:
Arrived the day they were scheduled. Took slightly longer than estimated, but we also changed the

Comments: Several tiles in my parquet floor came loose as a result of a water leak. Chicagoland flooring

Comments: They repaired 90 year old vintage floors in a condo; cracked floor boards
It was a terrific experience! They gave a written estimate before the work was done and came

Wrigleyville, Chicago, IL 60657 - Installation of hardwood flooring
Service: December, 2003
Comments: I hired Chicagoland Flooring to install hardwood floors throughout the second floor of my 1898 Victorian farmhouse.
These guys were great. They were unbelievably responsive.
Chicagoland Flooring is just a rally great to
work with. We encountered some problems with the foundation flooring being really warped and slanted in one
of the rooms (which we didn't notice until we started putting down the new floor.)
The owner came to me saying
that he really thought it looked bad to have such slanted floors and that I wouldn't be happy in the end and
had a number of options to fix it (which he did and it looks fantastic). I really trust these guys, they
give 110% and really go out of their way to do a fantastic job. They are craftsmen and aren't happy with
a job unless they think it's perfect.

Comments: Chicagoland Flooring sanded and sealed the hardwood floors in two rooms in

would do, and they did a great job.

Rogers Park, Chicago, IL 60626 - Sanded and sealed floors and refinished stair treads
Service: June, 2003
Comments: They refinished the first floor of our new home, which
included a foyer, living room, family room, playroom, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom; screened
(buffed) and coated the upstairs floor (four bedrooms and a hallway); and refinished the treads
of our stairs, which were coated with several layers of paint. No special stains were used. They
paid special attention to some very old (100+ years) wood. All our wood was red oak, and it was
stained natural.
It looks terrific. Their price was also competitive with another estimate we had.
They worked quickly and cleaned up afterward.

We have three types of wood in the house: maple, pine and oak. All (now) look beautiful!!
Chicagoland Flooring is extremely professional. The owner was able to come out for an
estimate the day I called. He then spent 45 minutes helping me explore my options. I never felt like
I was under any pressure to go with the more expensive option (though I ultimately did). He instilled
great confidence in this first-time home owner and din not disappoint. He and his crew did a fabulous
job on our floors. I would highly recommend them.
