Customer Feedback: Repaired areas of damaged hardwood floors, added protective coat.
They are the best. I spoke with several other companies before choosing Chicagoland Flooring, and I am so glad I decided to go with Chicagoland Flooring. They are definitely the most professional and offer the highest quality work in my opinion. The manager actually talked us out of the more expensive options - that was my first clue that these guys really deserve their great reputation. (He advised us to buff and apply a protective coat instead of sanding or replacing the floors, based on our particular situation.) We couldn't be more pleased with how the floors turned out. They did a lot of work for us on two radically different properties (a newer construction condo which is currently on the market, and the home we just moved into, which is an historic row house with original floors.) In both cases the work is beautiful and they did an amazing job.

Customer Feedback: I had a broken floor board in my dining room. I had called other companies and most did not do any repair. The representative who came to my home was very professional and was able to do an excellent repair of the problem. They answered my phone call the same day and asked that I email photos of the problem so he already was aware of what was needed.

Customer Feedback: They refinished maple floors in our kitchen and family room. They were extremely prompt and courteous. They did an excellent job on the floors. They told me they would have to do touch up to the wood, and they dinged up the floors a little bit and had replace some of the floor. They were really nice and the floors look beautiful.

Customer Feedback: Chicagoland Flooring tore out carpeting, rebuilt part of the under floor and put in a red oak floor, stained it and put on a finish coat. The new floor is beautiful.
I initially contacted several flooring companies about estimates to replace our family room carpeted floor with wood but then had to put the project on hold for a couple months. The company project manager of Chicagoland Flooring sent me several email reminders that he was interested in the job and would be happy to come out at our convenience. We finally requested estimates from two flooring companies. The project manager of Chicagoland Flooring said that in order to give us an accurate estimate he would need to pull up some of the carpeting to see what was underneath and suggested we go to two flooring sales/warehouses to look at the types of flooring possible. The other company just gave us an estimate, assuming what work would have to be done to replace the carpet with an oak floor. The project manager of Chicagoland pulled up the carpet in two places since the floor being replaced was the result of two separate additions. We went to the two recommended by the project manager flooring places to see the different types of flooring-mostly learning the differences between engineered and hardwood floors-and decided that we would go with a hardwood floor. My sister and her husband had recently used Chicagoland Flooring, were delighted with the results and the responsiveness of the company, so, since the recommendation were so good, we also chose Chicagoland Flooring. We were given a start date and end date, assuming everything would work as hoped. They told us that exactly matching our existing wood floors on the two rooms abutting the family room would not be possible but they would do the stain and finish until we were satisfied. They were also unsure what would definitely be found under the carpet so could not promise that there might be more work needed to level the floor. The two workers who came to do the work were on time, pleasant, good humored and very professional. They worked steadily and were able to complete the work on time. The leveling turned out to be both less and more complicated, needing less wood for an underlayment so costing a little less, but needing more hand cutting and affixing which took more time so cost a little more, evening out to the original estimate. Everyone had opinions about what stain color to choose and we are satisfied with what we chose. We used a less toxic water based finish so it is less shiny than in the other rooms but beautiful in itself. The project manager returned two or three more times on his own to fix an uneven stain result at the room's threshold, willing to continue until we were satisfied. Working with Chicagoland Flooring was a pleasant experience and we are really happy with our new floor.

Customer Feedback: They repaired some damage on a hardwood floor. They also put another layer of polyurethane on a floor. The company is very good at repairing damage floor. The manager said it may still be visible when he was done but you couldn't tell where was the damage.

Customer Feedback: Replaced two carpeted floors with wood flooring including putting in new sub-floors, building and staining the new oak floors, and adding 1/4" round throughout.
We wanted to replace old carpeting with wood floors in two small rooms on our first floor and called Chicagoland Flooring for an estimate. He came immediately and gave us an estimate for both refinishing the original floors that were underneath (something he encouraged for their potential beauty and to save us money), and if not possible, for creating new sub-flooring and building and staining new wood floors. I thought it unusual that he charges $50 for an estimate but since we ended up using him, and it applied to the total, for us it was fine. The manager is very knowledgeable and works hard to set clear expectations before the job, and encouraged us to ask a lot of questions. We did, and we hired him to come do the job a month later. Because we didn't know if the old floors would work, we pulled up the carpeting ourselves in one room (he gave us a discount for this) and we discovered we could not use the existing pine floor. We let him know before he started. Chicagoland Flooring team worked very hard, were charming, and even helped move one huge sofa out of the room. The work took a bit longer than we'd planned but the owner gave us clear expectations at each step. When it came to choosing the stain, he went so far as to paint 5-6 different samples on the new floor to help us decide and his team also put in one piece of maple (not planned) for where the new oak threshold and our older maple kitchen floor met. The owner made sure we were satisfied, gave us extensive instruction on how to clean the floors (including giving us a bottle of floor cleaner). Overall, we are very satisfied and grateful for the good job they did. It's clear Chicagoland Flooring only wants happy customers and we are.

Customer Feedback: The owner of Chicagoland Flooring came on time on a very snowy day in Chicago to give me a quote on refinishing about 650 square feet of wood flooring. He was very knowledgeable and patient with me, he explained the process in detail. He even took an interest in other problem areas of my new home that were worrying me. He followed up well. I am happy I used their service even though I had a quote was lower. Overall, I do recommend this company. They take pride in their knowledge of wood and wood refinishing.
